It is with a heavy heart that I send this missive to notify members of the Northeastern Province about the passing of our Northern Region Alumni Board Member, Jeffrey S. Fryar, Sr. Brother Fryar’s transition to Chapter Invisible occurred on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Known for his sartorial style and true Kappa Spirit, Brother Fryar was a member of the Albany (NY) Alumni Chapter and a Grand Chapter Life Member.
Brother Fryar is survived by his wife of 22 years, Aretha, and children Jeffrey Jr. (son) and Khira (daughter). Please keep the family in your prayers as they manage through this time of bereavement.
In honor of Brother Fryar’s service to the Fraternity, the Northeastern Province will honor his steadfast commitment to the precepts of our noble clan with a (30) day period of mourning to end on January 3, 2017. Proper protocol dictates that membership badges are draped with the upper half of the badge wrapped with black thread. The life member pins should be centered on an inch square swatch of black cloth and attached to the lapel.
Home going services for Brother Fryar will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church located at 440 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY. The viewing will occur from 10am-12pm with a Kappa Memorial Service starting promptly at 11am followed by the funeral service at 12pm. Kappa attire should consist of a dark suit, white shirt and crimson and/or red tie.
Yours in the Bond,
Craig C. Chisholm
